The Official IoPT School of Brazil

A new vision of psychotrauma, offering the next level of results
Meet Lia Bertuol
João da Silva
Therapist of Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Therapy and Theory (IoPT).

Graduate of Law (UNISINOS) with a specialization degree in Civil Law (PUCRS), obtained a Master’s of Business in Organizational Management (Fundatec-BR/University of Tennessee, in Martin, Tennessee, U.S.A.).

Involved in the human development since 2013, frequenting Family Constellation and Systems courses, at the Libre Université du Samadeva (Le Hohwald, France), in 2016-2017, and participated in the Intensive Course in Structural Constellations (SySt), in Cartagena, Colombia, in 2017-2018, with creators Mathias Varga and Insa Sparrer.

Reading the book Symbiosis and Autonomy in Relationships aroused her interest in Trauma Constellations in 2016, later called Constellations of Intention, later Constellations of Identity. Currently, Professor Franz Ruppert has used the term Encounters with Yourself, in Brazil called ECoM.

In April of 2017, she visited Lisbon, Portugal to engage more closely with the material directly with its creator Professor Ruppert. Following this encounter, a journey dedicated exclusively to the study and application of this theory developed by professor Ruppert, designated Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Therapy and Theory (IoPT), had begun. Lia has regularly participated in courses in Bilbao (Spain), London (UK), Oslo (Norway) and Brasilia (Brazil).

In 2019, she was included in the official List of Recommended Therapists on the site of Professor Franz Ruppert.

Licensed for the teaching of IoPT in Brazil, since May, 2021, it promotes training in IoPT with the Fundamental Themes and Assisted Practices course (currently in its 7th edition), based on the teachings of Professor Ruppert. The course is aimed at everyone who is interested in self-knowledge, as well as those who want to become practitioners of IoPT.

Besides her training and supervision under Professor Ruppert, she has done additional IoPT and Method of Intention training with Marta Thorsheim and Vivian Broughton.

Professor and lecturer in post-graduate courses, she wrote the article “Systemic Thought, Constellations and the Brazilian Judiciary”, published in the Revista de Arbitragem e Mediação (Jan/March, 2020). Passionately committed to disseminating IoPT in Brazil, Bertuol has translated and organized the publication of the book My Body, My Trauma, My I by Franz Ruppert & Harald Banzhaf (2020), as well as the technical review of the book Who am I in this traumatized society? (2021), and the organization and technical review of Love, Desire and Trauma (2022), all by Franz Ruppert. She uses the Encounters with Yourself (EcoMs) method, from IoPT therapy, for individual and group consultations, both online and in-person.
What is IoPT?
IoPT is the acronym for Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Therapy and Theory.

IoPT is based on both John Bowlby's attachment theory and also psychotrauma theory. It was developed by Prof. Dr. Franz Ruppert (Munich, Germany) who has studied the human condition for over 30 years, and has been consolidating and refining IoPT as a new theory and utilization of a three-dimensional model of the split personality.

Initially called the Constellation of Trauma, then Constellation of Intention and later, Constellation of Identity, the current iteration of Method of Intention is known as Encounter With Yourself or ECoM.

In ECoM practice, the applicant offers a phrase or drawing that contains the intent of the requester.

Each word in the intention phrase is repeated by persons chosen by the applicant. It can be done individually or in a group. In either arrangement, the subject will arrive at the answer of what, within him, relates to the questioning. Besides the principal participant, both those who watch and those who resonate are also benefited by an increase in consciousness.

Why search for our identity?

We all go through and suffer traumatic situations along the rocky road of life and the emotions resulting from these damaging events cover up the our true self, our ‘Healthy Self’, and prevent us from accomplishing our higher purposes in life.
